Santa Barbara City College has a large, well-established dual enrollment program offering college courses to high school students, many of whom are enrolled in career academies. With funds from the Irvine Foundation, the college developed bilingual program materials and implemented a freshman seminar (with credits that are transferable to the University of California) that has increased the participation of underrepresented students in dual enrollment.
